School
School is a major part of your life. It’s where you learn, socialize, and develop into a young adult. It is at school where you become more aware of your identity, form relationships with peers, and set goals for their future. At times, challenges may arise. This may be particularly true for the child with a bleeding disorder. Children with bleeding disorders have issues they and their parents must consider, such as telling friends and classmates about the bleeding problem; educating staff who are unaware of how to care for a child with a bleeding disorder; and the rights to which children with a bleeding disorder may be entitled. Helping children with bleeding disorders navigate the school years successfully can enable them to be confident young adults who can manage both their bleeding disorder and the rigors of academic and social activities.
