Going through puberty can be a confusing time for adolescents. As children become young adults they will experience emotional and physical changes, some of which can be scary for an individual with a bleeding disorder. Girls will experience their first period during puberty and will need special consideration because of their bleeding disorder. Indeed, it may be the first time a bleeding disorder becomes evident. Boys may undergo a growth spurt during this time requiring adjustments in the amount of factor they need.
While this time may seem challenging, boys and girls going through puberty can successfully manage their bleeding disorder as they embark on an exciting new time in their lives.
